Pastoral Counseling
1 on 1 meeting
1 hr | $50 | in-person
Pastoral Counseling is for people who need temporary emotional and spiritual support in what they are currently walking through. These sessions are a mix of empathetic listening, theophostic prayer, prophetic ministry, counseling, and open questions that lead towards prayerful moments of connection with God.
Pastoral counseling might be for you if you are struggling an area of life or in your relationship with God, looking for spiritual insight and guidance, or wanting to explore healing and support in a particular area. Pastoral Counseling sessions are available for a single meeting or up to 6 sessions. These typically take place once a month, for 1-2 hours, although more frequent meetings can be arranged as needed. The cost is $50 per session (no cost if you belong to Believer’s Church).
*Pastoral counseling is not a form of mental health treatment. Bethany is not a licensed mental health care provider or licensed clinical counselor. If you are in need of mental health treatment, referrals can be provided.
Testimonial:
"Meeting with Bethany is like taking a deep breath. She so intuitively sees your situation and responds in a way that allows God to be the one to really comfort and answer and heal. While not avoiding sharing her wealth of wisdom and experience, she allows space for God to be the counselor. I share some of the things Bethany said to me on a regular basis, as I really found them deeply impactful. I am a changed person, and feel my life even pivoted, from just one meeting."
Debriefing
Individual or Groups
2+ hr | $150+ | online or in-person
Getting to share your story is one of the greatest ways to feel known and seen, and debriefing is a great way for us to hear you well. It's not counseling or therapy, but it is a great first step to process a difficult topic or season of life.
We first started debriefing missionaries after they had served in a difficult part of the world for a couple years, and found that it was crucial to help them get perspective and reflect on changes, challenges, crises and losses.
Debriefing is right for you if you know that you haven't had a chance to just sit and share your story of the last season with anyone, and you'd like help with someone asking good questions to help you reflect and describe what you've gone through.
We often find that by the time we've spent a few hours together (2-4 hrs should be expected), we might have some suggestions on healthy ways forward , like therapy or spiritual direction.
